Christmas Season is Finally Here!

Though it seems but a little while since last we enjoyed the season, it really has been a whole year. But this year is by far much different than any Christmas season during my lifetime. Not only do we not feel safe going out shopping for gifts, but we don't even feel safe staying at home with out extended families! We love our families, but in a world of mobility, none of us knows who we have been close to, who had Covid-19 without knowing it. And though it has been downplayed by many, I have had friends die of it, and one of my best friends has it right now, and his health is already very fragile, so we have been fervently praying for him and others.

Is trouble new to us? Jesus said two thousand years ago, "33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world, " (John 16:33). I am thankful for the promise of Jesus to be with us throughout our lives. No matter what the world presents us to deal with, He is always leading on. Now- one good thing about that is: as long as Jesus is leading and we are following, we will eventually get past the trouble. That's a good gift in itself!
